So me and bro have been here for about a month and I figured somebody might be interested in hearing what has been going down in the OC. We camped for the first 2 weeks we were here and met some fine people in the campground. One of our favorite characters was Ray Garcia, we called him Camino because he had a pimped out 1969 El Camino bright red and as loud as can be. He pulled around a 1950's teardrop trailer as well. He was hilarious he never stopped talking about his car and trailer and was willing to tell anyone and everyone that walked by about it. He kind of annoyed us at first, but he grew on us for sure. He used profanity so profusely that it was hard not to laugh. I don't think I have ever heard anyone fit Sh-t and F-ck into a conversation as much as him haha. I know some of you may be apalled by that, but it's all good you had to meet him to understand him.
While staying at Doheny State beach we also met some bikers, one was from Virginia I think. He was a member of the airguard and had some free time so he biked al the way from Vancouver B.C. and was ending his trip somewhere in mexico I can't remember. The other the other biker was a retired Navy Seal that had been discharged because he was shot in the neck. The government only gives him 400 bucks a month after he was risking his life for our country which kind of ticks me off. Anyways he was pretty hardcore he talked about how he had killed multiple people and had a dangerous amount of knowledge about explosives haha. Now that I have said that you probably won't believe me when I say he was probably one of the most softed hearted guys we have met yet. He really loved animals and he camped with us one night. He was on his way to Florida and then back to Ohio where he lives. I think I would like to take a bike trip like that someday. He was into sailing as well which I was stoked about since I have been reading a lot of books about it lately and have dreams of getting a boat sometime in the future.
We met Some cool people named Jac and Janna at a bible study 2 weeks ago and they let us stay at there house which was quite gracious of them. We are back to camping now though, but have hopes of getting an apartment soon.
Scotty boy got a job probably within the first week or so that we were here. He is working at Jack's surf shop so that is a good fit for him. I have had quite the time getting a job, but I think I may have finally broken through. I was excepted to work at 2 companies yesterday. JC Bean's Coffee House and EZ-Lube. Currently I am going for the EZ-Lube position since I will get some more experience with cars which I think will be good if I end up going to Wyotech next year.
Nothing seems to be easy for me down here though there has been a lot of growing on my part and God has been revealing a lot of things to me.
At EZ-Lube yesterday I was applying along with one other guy and we were both excepted. He didn't have a car to get to the drug test and offered to pay for gas if we car pooled out there. I was cool with that as I am all about helping people.( I wonder where I get that from?) Anyways We start heading to the place and the guys asks if we can stop by his house so he can change out of his dress clothes. I was in a hurry because I had to pick bro up for surfing in an hour. I said that I really needed to get going, but he was quite insistant and his house was a few blocks away so I was like whatever. I should of been a little suspicous, but my mind wasn't focused. We headed over to the guys house. He had me wait for him a few blocks away which again I thought was somewhat strange. He returns in shorts and a T-shirt, and appears to either be holding something under his shirt or pulling up on his belt. I was a little suspicious by this time, but didn't say anything. We start driving down the road and he tells me that he had me park a ways away because he is actually living at his dad's warehouse right now and was embarassed. I assume he told me this because it was quite apparent that I was living in my car so he felt that he could let his guard down and I would relate to him. What he proceeded to tell me next though was a little unnerving. He had his 23rd birthday a couple weeks ago and smoked some pot during that week. He wasn't sure if he would pass the test or not so he had purchased some synthetic urine. I now realized why he had been so insistant on having to go back to his house to change. I was starting to freak out a little at this point and was quite angry as well. I wipped the car off the road and pulled up next to the sidewalk and told him I wasn't taking him to the drug test. He looked at me quite shocked and asked me why. I told him that I wasn't going to jeapordize my position at this new job because he smoked pot a couple weeks ago. He was still stunned by my statement and offered to give me 10 bucks to go along with it I again told him no. He then threw the sympathy card out there and talked about how he hadn't had a job in 2 months and that he really needed this position. He figured I could relate since I was living in my car. I told him I could relate about needing a job and that's why I wasn't going to risk being guilty by association with him. I apologized to him, but that he was going to have to get out of the car. he then offered me 20 bucks and said that his fake pee cost him 30 bucks and he couldn't reheat it. I told him sorry, but I wasn't going to risk my reputation and a job that I had been working my butt of for for a month just because he was stupid and smoked some pot. He continued to argue and we went round and round, but he finally said you have morals don't you and I replied yes and strong ones at that. He apologized and said he hoped he could make it up to me. I told him I didn't think any less of him for it, but that I wasn't willing to risk my reputation and potential job for his neglegance. I offered to take him back to his place, but he said he would walk. I haven't seen him since and don't know whate happened there. I hope that everything goes well and I get this position. I have been a little aprehensive though just cause nothing has really worked out the way I have wanted since I got here. God has a plan though so one way or the other I know I will be taken care of.
There is more to tell you, but this is getting pretty long so I shall right more later.
Thank you all for your prayers me and bro are doing fine so I don't want anyone worrying about us. Hope all is well wherever you may be. Peace and Jesus Love
